Agony in the heart of beef marketers


Shivaji Market used to present a pool of Beef sellers, but now it looks more deserted. The reason for this lies in the recent dismantling of beef market by the Government. The business, which had once been an advantageous for the state, because of this decision, it has lost its entity. According to the reports, the state is set to have 10,000 cr. Economic losses due to this.

While, my visit inside the Shivaji Nagar beef market, I noticed nothing but the agony inside the heart of beef marketer. I found them complaining about the step, the government put against them.

Abdul Karim, the beef seller, says “We got totally devasted by the recent Government decision. I don’t find anything proper regarding this step. Moreover, it has already devasted states economy. Because of this, many of our friends got sidelined from this business, and now they are waiting for new job.”

Similar answers I found from Sheikh Ahmed, another beef marketer in that location. According to him, the government by making such decision laid itself into trouble, as the benefit they were getting from this business completely got over.

On other hand, I found other export business including Chicken and Mutton, they are working well. So, why the government has targeted the beef industry? However, there may be several other reasons behind this, but right now everything looks sketchy to come near any result.
