Floods in Kashmir
Crisis in Jammu and Kashmir hit
majorly, after the flood gate has opened its door while submerging parts of the state.
According to our reports, the situation might be of similar status as there was
in 2014.Perhaps, this time it gets much bigger. With Water getting
stacked over the streets, there are huge chances of people getting affected by
the epidemic diseases. The list includes Cholera, Diarrhea and many more. But,
the question lies that how well are we prepared now for such kind of disaster?
Having, just few months passed after the 2014 disaster, the incoming of this
flood has really showcased us our unpreparedness for such kind of disaster.
According to the reports, the embankments near rivers are under check leading the water current to destroy it very easily.
Why not, our embankment must be
tightened enough in order to minimize the chances of such crisis. Also, while analyzing the perfect figure of river’s annual water ratio, we can have
perfect idea about when the river starts overreaching. There is also a need to sensitize people in order to minimize the collateral damage.
Disaster centers are also needed to
provide urgent help to the exact location. Every state should have a minimal of
10 to 12 disaster centers. The volunteers working for these centers can help
people getting aware about the disaster issue. Also, the school should include
disaster prone syllabus in their course in order to educate the masses concerning
this issue.
